Let’s Review: Lori Sjoberg

Trouble in a Tight Dress.

Let me just begin by saying how very much I like this title!  It makes me picture a hot alpha male  sitting at a bar, looking dead cool and thinking of how he has no intention of getting involved with a woman, until of course a sexy woman walks in who is in need of rescue.  Luckily, that is pretty much what I got from this story!

Austin, the sexy brooding security specialist, is fairly jaded about relationships thanks to his ex-wife.  He has no intention of getting into a relationship and just wants to focus on his latest job.  Enter Nina. She is gorgeous, smart, and as his employee, completely off limits.  A kiss ignites all of the attraction brewing, and when Austin discovers that Nina’s Mafia brother has plans to drag her back into the family business, he realizes that his beautiful employee is in trouble higher than the slit in her very tight dress.

I love the story line and I love that Austin and his brothers run Six Point Security.  I will definitely read the rest of the series which tells the stories of Austin’s brothers.  I especially want to read Wade’s story since Lori Sjoberg dangled some pretty enticing carrots where he is concerned.

Having said all of that, there were a couple things that bugged me.  One is that I felt like some of the characters had unrealistic reactions.  At one point Nina called Austin in the middle of the night after she had been kidnapped.  Instead of acting upset and demanding the story, Austin was just like, okay, I’ll come get you.  The other thing that bugged me is that I felt like there had been a book before Austin’s that I hadn’t read.  There isn’t, I checked.  But previous events were mentioned without explaining the back story and I felt like I was missing something.  Of course, it partly makes me want to read more to piece it all together, but I also find it kind of annoying.

Overall, Trouble in a Tight Dress is a great read.  The characters are likable and the story is engaging.  I am totally going to keep up with the series, so pick up the first book!

Well done, Lori Sjoberg!
